The Fall
Menu

AMERICA is a farm-to-table kitchen inside a 1979 Blue Bird bus, parked on the farm that grows the menu. Here is what the truck is serving this fall, what it is made from, and where to find it.

Cane-sugar smoked brisket plate from the AMERICA food truck at The Bell Farm

The bus is a 1979 Blue Bird I converted myself. I saw it and saw something nobody else did — I saw America. What comes out of its window changes with what the farm is growing, and the fall menu is the one where the farm has the most to say: the cane is coming in, the sweet potatoes are coming up, and the heat has finally backed off enough to run the smoker all day.

What is on the truck this fall

Prices are posted at the window and on the AMERICA page; they move a little with what the farm and the market do, and I would rather have them right at the window than wrong on a blog post.

Where and when

The truck lives at The Bell Farm, 16140 Okeechobee Blvd, Loxahatchee, FL 33470, with walk-up hours Thursday through Sunday. It is about twenty minutes from Wellington and Royal Palm Beach and half an hour from West Palm Beach. Bring a chair or use ours, walk the farm while the brisket is being sliced, and go look at the water lilies. Farm-stay guests eat here without getting in the car.

Catering season is now

Fall through spring is when Palm Beach County hosts everything — equestrian season in Wellington, corporate events, weddings, the neighborhood block party that was too hot to hold in August. The truck travels anywhere in the county for a $150 travel fee, private catering starts at $800 per event, farm dinners on our own ground are $150 per person with a ten-guest minimum, and we feed up to 200 people in three to four hours. The fall menu above is the catering menu too, with the brisket as the anchor. Book through randolphscottbell.com/book or call.

Why a farm has a food truck

Because the shortest possible distance between the field and the plate is about three hundred feet. AMERICA is a licensed Florida mobile food establishment (MFD1654011) operating on a state-registered agritourism farm, and the point of it is that the eggs in the burrito and the cane in the juice were here yesterday. Come taste the difference.
