West Palm Beach is an incorporated city, not unincorporated county — it runs its own Development Services Department, Building Division, separate from the Palm Beach County Building Division that governs unincorporated Loxahatchee. Permits, plan review, and inspection scheduling all run through the City's digital EPL (Enterprise Permitting & Licensing) platform, via its customer-facing Civic Access portal. A licensed contractor must hold the permit and be present at final inspection; we submit and track every job through that same portal.

West Palm Beach sits in the Florida Building Code's Wind-Borne Debris Region — not the Miami-Dade/Broward High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Per Palm Beach County's Figure 1609.3(1) ultimate design wind speed map (Risk Category II, Exposure C, 3-second gust), the city's coastal core along the Intracoastal falls in the 170 mph band, the same top-tier coastal reading carried along the rest of the county's Atlantic-facing shoreline, stepping down slightly toward the city's western limits. El Cid to Grandview Heights

We install in El Cid, Flamingo Park, Old Northwood Historic District, Southland Park, Grandview Heights, and the SoSo/Prospect Park area. El Cid, Flamingo Park, Old Northwood, and Southland Park are designated Historic Preservation districts with a City Historic Preservation Board that must approve exterior changes — including window and door replacement profile — before a permit is finaled. We prepare the profile and material submittal the Board expects and coordinate it alongside the City's building permit so the project doesn't stall between the two.

Grandview Heights, the SoSo/Prospect Park area, and West Palm Beach neighborhoods generally follow standard City permitting without that extra board unless the specific property sits in a private HOA — a genuinely different approval path than the historic districts.
