The Structure Under the Roof
Shingles, tile and metal panels get the attention, but the trusses or rafters underneath carry the roof, resist the wind and hold the covering in place. When framing is damaged by water, rot, termites, a fallen tree or years of loads it was never meant for, patching the surface does not fix the roof. We open the area, document the framing with dated photos and tell you what is sound and what is not before any scope is written.
Because we hold both the roofing license and the general contractor license, the structure and the covering are one job with one accountable team, not a hand-off between a framer and a roofer.
What We Do
Our structural roof work covers replacing damaged trusses, repairing or sistering rafters, replacing rotted sheathing and decking, and rebuilding the roof system over them. A replacement truss follows engineered drawings for that roof; where the roof is changing, new drawings come first. The covering that goes back on needs a valid Florida Product Approval for the installation.
If a smaller repair is enough, we say so. We would rather tell you the framing is sound than sell a replacement it does not need.
Our Documented Work
The structural job we can document is a clubhouse roof from 2021: a structural flying-truss set, set by crane, plus a complete roof system on a community clubhouse, done under Certified General Contractor license CGC1528750. Other confirmed structural work includes a structural carport repair in 2025 and a concrete beam and built-up roof rebuild on a Royal Palm Beach community carport in November 2025. We name no client and list no job we cannot document.
The owner describes his own experience in general terms: new construction and commercial, institutional and high-rise projects, including million-dollar builds.
Permits & Code
Truss replacement and framing changes are permitted under the Florida Building Code, and a licensed contractor holds the permit and is present at final inspection. Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Jupiter, West Palm Beach and the other incorporated towns run their own building departments; unincorporated areas such as Loxahatchee go through the Palm Beach County Building Division. We hold a Palm Beach County business tax receipt, which is a local tax registration and not a contractor license; the licenses are the state-issued CCC1332751 and CGC1528750.
Proof
We lead with the credential stack: Florida Certified Roofing Contractor license CCC1332751, a state certification that lets us contract roofing work in any Florida county, and Certified General Contractor license CGC1528750; the written one-year workmanship warranty; and BBB A+ accreditation. We publish no price, no customer name and no result we cannot document. Financing is available through our partner Renew Financial’s RenewPACE program, designed for energy and storm-protection upgrades like impact windows and new roofs. Ask us about eligibility. For storm damage and claims see storm damage roof help; for the covering itself see roof replacement in West Palm Beach and commercial roofing.
Questions, Answered
It depends on what is wrong with it. A cracked or split member, a failed connection plate, rot at a bearing point or damage from a fallen limb can sometimes be repaired to an engineered detail, while a truss that has lost a chord, a web or its bearing generally needs replacing. We open up the area, photograph what we find and tell you which it is before any scope is written.
The usual causes are water getting into the framing over years, termites or rot at the bearing ends, impact from storm debris or a fallen tree, loads the roof was never designed for, and members cut or notched by a later trade. In Palm Beach County a hurricane adds uplift on the connections, which is why we look at the attachment as well as the lumber.
Roof trusses are engineered components made to a design for one specific roof: its span, pitch, loads and bearing points. A replacement truss follows the engineered drawings for that roof, or a new set of drawings where the roof is changing. That is why we measure and document the existing framing first.
The spacing is set by the truss design drawings for that roof, not by a rule of thumb, and it is checked against the roof covering and the wind load. Trusses are typically laid out in regular spacing along the building, but we confirm the layout on your plans or by measuring the existing roof before anything is ordered.
Sometimes. A damaged rafter can occasionally be repaired or sistered by opening only the covering over that area, and sometimes the framing and the covering have to come off together. We decide on what the structure shows once it is exposed, and we say plainly if a small repair is enough.
We do not quote a number without looking at the roof, and the choice is mostly a structural one, not a price one: the span, the loads, the attic space wanted and the existing framing decide which system fits. The free estimate gives you the scope and the figure in writing for your building.
Yes. Replacing trusses or changing roof framing is permitted work under the Florida Building Code, and a licensed contractor holds the permit. Which office issues it depends on the property: incorporated municipalities such as Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Jupiter and West Palm Beach run their own building departments, while unincorporated areas go through the Palm Beach County Building Division. Engineered drawings are generally part of the submittal.
Yes. Our 2021 clubhouse job is a structural flying-truss set plus a complete roof system on a community clubhouse, done under Certified General Contractor license CGC1528750. We publish no client name. The owner also runs BeacCorp Property Management, so the board's side of a project, the scope, the approvals and the records, is familiar ground.
