A remodel touching the exterior in either district typically needs a Certificate of Appropriateness from the City's Historic Resource Preservation Board — covering style, height and material — before a permit is finaled. That review runs alongside, not instead of, the City permit, and we prepare the submittal package so it doesn't stall the job.
