Twilight
Meet the
Bees

Suit up at the bee shed. Watch a working beekeeper open the hives with a smoker. Ten hives sit on the strip along the canal, and the whole thing is timed for sunset — a working farm's real bee yard, not a petting-zoo demo.

The Experience

The Bell Farm keeps ten hives on the strip of land along the canal, and Twilight Meet the Bees is the chance to see them worked the way a real beekeeper works them — not behind glass, not from a safe distance across a fence, but suited up and standing beside the hive boxes as the light goes gold and then gray.

Every guest suits up at the bee shed before walking out to the hives. The beekeeper carries a smoker — the traditional tool that calms a hive before it's opened — and works through the frames while guests watch and ask questions. The session is timed for sunset, when the bees are settling for the night and the canal light does the rest.

Twilight Meet the Bees — FAQ

Is it safe? Will I get stung?

Every guest suits up at the bee shed before walking out to the hives, and the beekeeper uses a smoker to calm the bees before opening any hive — the traditional, tested way to work a hive safely. As with any live-animal experience, no outcome can be guaranteed, but the suit and the smoker are exactly the setup a working beekeeper uses on every visit.

Can kids come?

Yes. Under-12 pricing is $25, the same suited-up experience as the adult session. Every guest, regardless of age, suits up at the bee shed before approaching the hives.

What should I wear?

A full bee suit is provided at the bee shed, so come in comfortable clothes underneath and closed-toe shoes for the walk out to the canal-side hives. It's a working farm, so plan for natural ground rather than a paved path.

What if it rains?

This is a working farm and plans move with the weather. If rain is in the forecast for your booked evening, call (561) 779-3213 and we'll work out the best option with you rather than have you find out on arrival.

How much does it cost?

$45 for adults, $25 for guests under 12. Book through Book Direct or call (561) 779-3213.

How do I book?

Through Book Direct, the farm's own booking calendar, or by calling (561) 779-3213. Because the session is timed for sunset, book ahead so we can set the time to that evening's actual sunset.

How many people can come at once?

Call (561) 779-3213 or use Book Direct to check availability for your group size — the bee shed only has so many suits on hand for a given evening, so larger groups should book ahead rather than walk up.

What's included?

A bee suit sized to each guest, a smoker demonstration, and the walk out to the ten hives on the canal strip with the beekeeper, timed for sunset.

Where is The Bell Farm?

16140 Okeechobee Blvd, Loxahatchee, FL 33470 — the only Bell Farm. Ten hives sit on the strip along the canal on the same property.
