Why Jupiter Roofs Get Inspected

What a Jupiter roof is up against

Jupiter is a coastal town. Along the inlet and the Loxahatchee River, salt air corrodes roof fasteners and flashing faster than it does inland, and many of the homes in those older enclaves date to the 1970s and 80s, so they are often on a second or third roof. A roof that looks acceptable from the street can still have fasteners near the end of their life, and an inspection is how you find out before a storm does.

The usual reasons to book one: you are buying or selling and want the roof’s condition on paper; your insurer has asked about the roof’s age or condition; you have a stain on a ceiling and want the cause found; or hurricane season is coming and you want the roof checked first. Our guide to roof age and Florida insurance explains how roof age and the 25% repair rule interact with a claim or a renewal.

Permitting & Wind Load

The Town of Jupiter has its own Building Department

Jupiter is an incorporated town, not unincorporated county. Its Building Department is at 210 Military Trail, and applications, plan review and inspection scheduling run through the Town’s online CDS portal. An inspection that leads to a repair or a re-roof needs a Town permit held by a licensed roofing contractor, who must be present at final inspection; we do both.

All of Jupiter sits inside the Florida Building Code Wind-Borne Debris Region, with design wind speeds running roughly 160–175 mph and climbing toward the ocean. Oceanfront lots and some Loxahatchee River lots can also fall under Coastal Construction Control Line provisions, an extra engineering step on top of the Town permit. We check the address against the code and confirm Florida Product Approval for anything that goes on the roof.

Neighborhoods & HOA

From the inlet to Jupiter Farms

We inspect across Jupiter: Abacoa, Jonathan’s Landing, Admirals Cove, Egret Landing, The Shores, Indian Creek, Maplewood, Jupiter Ocean & Racquet, the older coastal streets near the inlet and along the river, and Jupiter Farms on the western side, which borders our home base in Loxahatchee. Abacoa is deed-restricted with strict architectural standards, and the gated golf communities run their own review boards, so a repair or re-roof that follows an inspection may need HOA approval for color and material alongside the Town permit.

What You Get

What the inspection covers, and what you get

We check the roof covering for age, wear, lifted or missing pieces, the flashing at walls, valleys and penetrations, fastener condition, and the signs of water that show up in the attic. You get a plain-language account of what we saw and whether the roof needs nothing, a repair, or a replacement. We do not put a price on a diagnosis; if work is needed, the estimate is free.

Every roofing or window estimate includes a free wind-mitigation & energy walk-through, and every job carries a written one-year workmanship warranty. Financing available through our partner Renew Financial’s RenewPACE program — designed for energy and storm-protection upgrades like impact windows and new roofs. Ask us about eligibility.

Proof

What we can document in Jupiter

Our documented Jupiter roofing project is the Goodyear Building: a 6,000 sq ft standing-seam PBR metal panel commercial roof replacement under CCC1332751. It is a commercial metal roof, not a home inspection, and we label it that way. For homes we lead with the credentials: Florida Certified Roofing Contractor CCC1332751, which is separate from Certified General Contractor CGC1528750, and certified means Randolph Scott Bell may contract in any Florida county. A Jupiter Business Tax Receipt is held, and the firm is BBB A+ accredited.

Questions, Answered

Jupiter roof inspection, frequently asked

Do I need a permit after a roof inspection in Jupiter?

An inspection on its own does not need one, but a repair or re-roof does. Jupiter is an incorporated town with its own Building Department at 210 Military Trail and an online CDS portal, separate from unincorporated Palm Beach County. A licensed roofing contractor holds the permit and is present at final inspection. We handle both.

What wind zone is Jupiter in, and does it affect my roof?

All of Jupiter is inside the Florida Building Code Wind-Borne Debris Region, with design wind speeds running roughly 160-175 mph and climbing toward the ocean. Any roofing product that goes back on needs a valid Florida Product Approval, and oceanfront or river lots may also fall under Coastal Construction Control Line provisions. We check your exact address before we quote.

Does salt air shorten the life of a Jupiter roof?

Yes, near the coast and the Loxahatchee River. Salt air corrodes roof fasteners and flashing faster than inland conditions do, and many older coastal homes are on their second or third roof. That is why an inspection looks at fasteners and flashing, not only at the surface you can see from the street.

Can an inspection help with my insurance company or a home sale?

It gives you a written, plain-language record of the roof's condition, which is useful when an insurer asks about the roof or when you are buying or selling. We do not adjust or negotiate claims and we cannot promise any insurer's decision. Our guide on roof age and Florida insurance explains the rules in general terms.

How much does a roof inspection cost in Jupiter?

We do not put a price on a diagnosis, because it depends on the roof and what you need documented. Estimates are free, and every roofing or window estimate includes a free wind-mitigation & energy walk-through. Call (561) 779-3213 and tell us what the roof is doing.

Are you licensed to work on roofs in Jupiter?

Yes. Bell Engineering and Construction Corporation holds Florida Certified Roofing Contractor license CCC1332751, a state certification separate from Certified General Contractor license CGC1528750, plus a Jupiter Business Tax Receipt, EPA Lead-Safe Firm registration #NAT-F122701-2 and BBB A+ accreditation. A Business Tax Receipt is a local tax registration, not a licence.
