Why Jupiter Is Different

A town with its own building department, and some of the county’s highest wind design

Jupiter is an incorporated town with its own Building Department at 210 Military Trail and an online portal for applications, plan review and inspection scheduling. A truss replacement or a change to roof framing is permitted there, not through the Palm Beach County Building Division. A licensed contractor holds the permit and is present at the final inspection. We hold a Jupiter business tax receipt, which is a local tax registration and not a contractor license; the licenses are the state-issued CCC1332751 and CGC1528750.

Jupiter sits squarely in the Wind-Borne Debris Region, with design wind speeds running roughly 160 to 175 mph and climbing toward the ocean. Oceanfront lots and homes along the Loxahatchee River can also fall under Coastal Construction Control Line provisions that add engineering, tie-down and elevation requirements. Roof framing is where those loads end up, so we check your address and lot against the Florida Building Code before a scope is written.

Jupiter Roofs

Salt air on the coast, and very different rulebooks from Abacoa to Jupiter Farms

The older coastal neighborhoods near the inlet and along the river date to the 1970s and 1980s, and many homes are on their second or third roof. Salt air shortens the life of fasteners and metal connector plates, so when we open a coastal roof we look at the hardware holding the trusses to their bearing as closely as at the wood. Where framing is replaced on the coast, we specify corrosion-resistant components.

Abacoa, the master-planned neighborhood begun in the mid-1990s, is newer construction to stronger codes but deed-restricted, with architectural standards that govern colors, materials and elevations. Gated golf communities such as Jonathan’s Landing and Admirals Cove run their own boards the same way. We prepare the submittals a review board asks for and run the association approval alongside the Town permit.

Jupiter Farms, on the western side, is the rural, equestrian part of town, with acreage, wells and septic, and it borders our home base in Loxahatchee. Larger parcels carry outbuildings and detached garages whose roofs are framed differently from a house, and we measure what is there before anything is ordered.

How We Work

Open the area, document the framing, then write the scope

A replacement truss follows engineered drawings for that roof: its span, pitch, loads and bearing points. Where the roof is changing, new drawings come first. We open the damaged area, photograph the framing with dated photos and tell you what is sound and what is not before any scope is written. If a smaller repair is enough, we say so.

Because we hold both the roofing license and the general contractor license, the framing and the covering are one job with one accountable team.

Proof

What we can document in Jupiter

Our documented Jupiter roof is the Goodyear Building, a 6,000 sq ft standing-seam metal panel commercial roof replacement under CCC1332751. It is a roof covering job, not a truss job, and we say so plainly. The structural job we can document is a 2021 clubhouse roof: a structural flying-truss set, set by crane, plus a complete roof system on a community clubhouse, done under CGC1528750. We name no client.

Florida Certified Roofing Contractor license CCC1332751 is a state certification that lets us contract roofing work in any Florida county, alongside Certified General Contractor license CGC1528750. Every job carries a written one-year workmanship warranty, and we are BBB A+ accredited. We publish no price. Financing is available through our partner Renew Financial’s RenewPACE program, designed for energy and storm-protection upgrades like impact windows and new roofs. Ask us about eligibility. Questions, Answered

Roof truss replacement in Jupiter, frequently asked

Who issues the permit for a roof truss replacement in Jupiter?

The Town of Jupiter Building Department, at 210 Military Trail, with applications, plan review and inspection scheduling handled through its online portal. Jupiter is an incorporated town, so this work does not go through the Palm Beach County Building Division. A licensed contractor holds the permit and is present at final inspection, and engineered drawings are generally part of the submittal.

What wind speed does Jupiter design for, and does it matter for trusses?

Jupiter is in the Wind-Borne Debris Region with design wind speeds running roughly 160 to 175 mph, climbing toward the ocean. It matters most at the connections: we check how each truss is tied to its bearing, and we check your address and lot against the Florida Building Code before a scope is written.

Does salt air damage roof trusses and their connections?

It can. Salt air shortens the life of fasteners and metal connector plates, especially in the older coastal neighborhoods near the inlet and the river. When we open a coastal roof we look at the hardware as closely as the wood, and where framing is replaced we specify corrosion-resistant components.

Does a Coastal Construction Control Line affect roof framing work?

It can on oceanfront lots and on some homes along the Loxahatchee River, where those provisions add engineering, tie-down and elevation requirements. We check your specific lot before quoting, so you know early whether the extra requirements apply to your roof.

Do I need association approval in Abacoa or a gated golf community?

Usually yes for anything that changes what the roof looks like. Abacoa has strict architectural standards for colors, materials and elevations, and communities such as Jonathan's Landing and Admirals Cove run their own boards. We prepare the submittals the board requires and run the approval alongside the Town permit.

Is the estimate free, and is there a warranty?

Yes to both. Estimates are free, and every roofing estimate includes a free wind-mitigation and energy walk-through. Every job carries a written one-year workmanship warranty, and financing is available through our partner Renew Financial's RenewPACE program. Ask us about eligibility.
