Who Can Say No in Lake Worth

Most bookings here stall on a question nobody asks out loud: whose permission is actually needed. For a private event the answer is usually shorter than people fear. Four parties could weigh in, and they are not equally powerful.

1 · The State
A food truck in Florida is licensed as a Mobile Food Dispensing Vehicle under Chapter 509, Florida Statutes. AMERICA holds MFD1654011, issued April 2, 2026. Under § 509.102 the regulation of these vehicles as to licences, permits and fees is preempted to the state, so the city or county cannot require a separate licence of its own.
2 · The City, or the County
Two places answer to the name. The City of Lake Worth Beach is incorporated and runs its own building department. Many Lake Worth mailing addresses west of it are unincorporated and fall to Palm Beach County. Either one still controls zoning, the right-of-way, parking and noise, and any event on public ground such as a park or the beachfront. That event permit belongs to the host.
3 · The association
Condo buildings and HOAs set rules a state law does not touch: commercial vehicles, vendor access, amplified sound, clubhouse catering. A board decides, usually at a monthly meeting, so ask early with a clean vendor packet.
4 · The property
A church hall, a school lot, a marina, an office park or a private yard. The owner sets the vendor terms: insurance, load-in windows, where a generator may run. On private property this is often the only approval a small event needs.
⚖️
Said plainly, and not as legal advice: the licence question is settled by state law and we hold the licence. Confirm zoning, public-ground event rules and your own community's covenants with the City, the County or your board before the date is set.
Where Lake Worth Events Actually Happen
Lake Worth is a small-grid, walkable place, which shapes where a full-size bus can sit. These are the kinds of bookings that fit.
Condo and HOA community nights
The most common booking. A building or community near the Intracoastal or in the neighbourhoods of College Park and Old Lucerne books the truck for a social or an owners' night, and residents buy at the window or the association covers a set spend. We quote both ways so the treasurer can compare.
Downtown and waterfront gatherings
Lake Avenue, Bryant Park and the Beach and Casino area host public events, including the downtown Street Painting Festival each February. Those grounds belong to the City or the organiser, so the vendor question goes to them first. If they allow a mobile vendor on your date, we can serve there.
Office, shop and crew lunches
Staff lunches, a grand opening, a contractor or property-management crew feed. Lunch is the tightest window we run, because the crowd arrives together. Tell us the exact start and end time and we will say honestly whether one truck can serve it.
Backyard parties and milestones
Birthdays, graduations, anniversaries. Older Lake Worth streets can be narrow with low canopy, so we ask for a photo of the approach and of where you picture the bus before we confirm.
Weddings and receptions
Rehearsal dinner, late-night second service or the reception itself. Wedding catering starts at $2,500 and is a longer planning conversation. See the wedding catering guide.
The farm instead
A plated private farm dinner at The Bell Farm in Loxahatchee is $150 per person with a ten-guest minimum. For a milestone dinner it is worth pricing both ways. See the farm dinner.
What a Lake Worth Booking Needs From You
The Association Gate, From the Inside

The company behind this bus also holds Florida Community Association Manager licence CAM34850 and management-firm licence CAB3255 through BeacCorp Property Management. When a board asks a vendor for a licence copy, a certificate of insurance and a load-in window, we know the request because we write it for other vendors. The packet comes in a form a manager can forward untouched.

What It Costs
Private catering

Lake Worth Food Truck Catering — FAQ

Do I need a City of Lake Worth Beach permit to bring a food truck to my party?

For a private event on private property, generally no separate food-truck permit exists to get. Under section 509.102 of the Florida Statutes, the regulation of mobile food dispensing vehicles as to licences, registrations, permits and fees is preempted to the state, so a city or county may not require a separate licence beyond the state licence. AMERICA holds MFD1654011. What local government still controls is ordinary land use, the right-of-way, parking and noise, and an event on public ground such as a city park or the beachfront runs through the City's own event process, which belongs to the host rather than the caterer. This is not legal advice. Call (561) 779-3213 and we will tell you which of these applies to your address.

Is Lake Worth the same as Lake Worth Beach when I book?

Not exactly, and it changes who you ask. The City of Lake Worth Beach is the incorporated city on the water. Many mailing addresses that say Lake Worth sit west of it in unincorporated Palm Beach County, where the county rather than the city handles land-use and noise questions. The state food-truck licence is the same either way. Tell us the street address when you call and we will say which one you are in.

How much does food truck catering cost in Lake Worth?

Private catering starts at $800 per event. Weddings and larger catering start at $2,500, and one truck serves events of up to 200 guests. A plated private farm dinner at The Bell Farm is $150 per person with a ten-guest minimum. We do not publish a separate Lake Worth price here, so call (561) 779-3213 with your date and head count for a number on your event.

Can you cater at Bryant Park, the Casino building or the downtown street festivals?

Those are public places, so the first answer comes from whoever runs the event or the booking, usually the City, not from us. If the organiser or the City's venue desk permits a vendor on the date you want, we can bring the bus. Ask them what they require of a mobile food vendor, and we will supply the state licence MFD1654011 and any paperwork they list. Do not set the date until that is in writing.

My HOA or condo in Lake Worth says no commercial vehicles. Does state law override that?

No. The state preemption limits what a government may require of a food truck. It does nothing to a private covenant. Your declaration and rules are a contract among the owners, enforced by the board. If they restrict commercial vehicles, vendor access or amplified sound, the board decides whether to allow an exception. Give the board a complete packet early: the state licence, a certificate of insurance naming the association, and load-in and breakdown times that respect quiet hours.

Do you need power or water from the venue?

No. A mobile food dispensing vehicle in Florida is defined as carrying self-contained utilities, and AMERICA runs her own power, so there is a generator. The planning point is sound rather than supply: check your community's quiet hours and any amplified-sound rule, and we will build load-in, service and breakdown inside that window.
