The Short Answer
Booking a food truck in Greenacres is rarely blocked by the truck. It gets blocked by a permission question nobody answers out loud: the host assumes the City has a rule, the HOA board assumes the state has one, and the date slips. This page says who can actually tell you no, which Greenacres events book a truck, where a full-size bus can park, and what it costs.
AMERICA is based at The Bell Farm, 16140 Okeechobee Blvd in Loxahatchee, west of Greenacres. Tell us the date, the head count and the address: (561) 779-3213.
Who Can Actually Tell You No — the Greenacres Permission Map
Gatekeeper 1 — the State: already handled
AMERICA is licensed by the state as a Mobile Food Dispensing Vehicle under Chapter 509, Florida Statutes: MFD1654011, issued April 2, 2026, expiring December 1, 2026. It is a state licence, not a county permit, and it travels with the bus. Verify it with the state.
Gatekeeper 2 — the City
Under section 509.102, Florida Statutes, a city may not require its own licence, registration or permit for a mobile food dispensing vehicle beyond the state's. The City of Greenacres, with City Hall at 5800 Melaleuca Lane, still controls zoning, parking, noise and any event on City property. If your party is on private property the City usually has nothing further to approve; for a City park or street, the host asks the City.
Gatekeeper 3 — the association
If you live in an HOA, POA or condo, a private covenant is untouched by the state licence. Commercial-vehicle, vendor, clubhouse and sound rules are enforced by the board. This is the gate that actually stops bookings. Ask early.
Gatekeeper 4 — the property owner
A church, school, office park, club or private lot sets its own vendor terms: where a generator may run, load-in windows, what may touch the turf. Usually a five-minute answer.
⚖️Said plainly, and not as legal advice: the licensing question is settled by state law and we hold the licence. Zoning, parking and event permits belong to the City and to whoever is hosting; the covenant question belongs to your association. Confirm your own community's rules, and for anything on City property the City's process, before you fix the date.
Greenacres Events That Book a Truck
Greenacres is a City of more than 17,000 homes across single-family streets, condos, villas and townhomes, among them Cresthaven, Lucerne Lakes, Lucerne Park, Sherwood Lakes, Springhill, Covered Bridge, Royal Palm Estates and the Pawleys Plantation area. Naming your kind of event turns a vague range into a real number and a placement plan.
1 · The park or community-centre party
Birthdays, graduations, league and club socials. A City park or community facility belongs to the City, so the host asks the City what it allows before the date is set. We bring the state licence and the placement plan; the City tells you whether and where a bus may park. Greenacres has City parks and a community centre, including Ira Van Bullock Park, and we do not assume any of them permits a truck.
2 · The community or condo night
Clubhouse social, holiday evening, new-owner welcome. The association either books the truck as an amenity or covers a set spend. Greenacres is full of condo, villa and townhome communities, and the board is the gatekeeper that decides, not the City.
3 · The office or crew lunch
Staff appreciation, a job-site crew feed, a grand opening. A lunch crowd arrives all at once, so the head count and a hard start time matter more than at any evening event. Tell us the window and we will tell you honestly whether one truck can serve it.
4 · The backyard or driveway party
Most Greenacres lots are suburban, so the question is the turn and the overhead, not the space. A circular drive, a wide cul-de-sac or a parking lot works. Send a photo of the approach and we mark where the bus parks and where the queue forms.
5 · The wedding or reception
And one we will talk you out of
A truck parked on a public street or in a shopping-centre lot hoping for walk-up trade is a different business from catering, and it is not what this bus does. In Greenacres she comes to a host, for a booked event, at a set time. Her walk-up service runs Thursday to Sunday at the farm.
Where a Bus Can Park in Greenacres
AMERICA is a 1979 Blue Bird bus, converted by hand. She needs a straight approach, room to leave nose-first, firm ground and clearance overhead. In neighbourhoods of mature trees and low service wires, that is worth ten minutes of planning. Before we confirm any address we check the turn, the gate or guard list, the overhead, the ground, where the queue forms, and the quiet hours, because she runs her own generator. A photo of the approach settles most of it.

Food Truck Catering in Greenacres — FAQ
Do I need a City of Greenacres permit to have a food truck at my party?
For a private event on private property, there is no separate food-truck permit to get from the City. Florida law (section 509.102) puts the licensing of mobile food dispensing vehicles with the state, so a city may not require its own licence, registration or permit on top of the state licence. AMERICA holds state licence MFD1654011 under Chapter 509. The City still controls ordinary land use, parking and noise, and an event on City property or a public street runs through the City's own process, which belongs to the host rather than the caterer. This is not legal advice. Call (561) 779-3213 and we will tell you which of those applies to your address.
My HOA or condo association says no commercial vehicles. Does the state licence override that?
No. The state licence settles what a government may require of a food truck. It does nothing to a private covenant. Your declaration, rules and clubhouse policies are a contract among the owners, enforced by the board, so a restriction on commercial vehicles, vendors or amplified sound stands until the board grants relief. Give the board the state licence number and your event window early. The company behind this bus also holds Florida CAM licence CAM34850 and management-firm licence CAB3255, so the vendor questions a board asks are familiar to us.
How much does food truck catering cost in Greenacres?
Private catering starts at $800 per event. Weddings and larger catering start at $2,500, and a plated private farm dinner at The Bell Farm is $150 per person for a party of ten or more. Nothing here is a Greenacres surcharge: the published numbers are the same on every page of this site. Tell us the date, the head count and the address and we will give you the figure for your event.
How many food trucks do I need for 250 people?
One truck comfortably feeds up to 200 guests across a three-to-four-hour service window. At 250 guests the answer depends on how compressed the window is: 250 people trickling through an evening is a long service from one window, while 250 arriving at once for a one-hour lunch needs a second service point. We tell you which before you book, not on the night.
Can the bus get into my neighbourhood and turn around?
Usually, with notice. AMERICA is a full-size 1979 Blue Bird bus, so two things decide it: whether the community's gate or guard has her on the access list before she arrives, and whether she can get back out nose-first. Cul-de-sacs, circular drives, parking lots and park service lots are easy. A narrow lane with a fence at the end is not. Send one photo of the approach and one of where you imagine her parked and we will mark the park, the turn and the queue.
Can you serve a party at a Greenacres park or community centre?
Possibly. A City park or community facility is City property, so the host asks the City what it allows for vendors and for a private reservation, and we hand over the state licence and whatever paperwork the City asks for. We do not assume a park permits a food truck. Ask the City first, then call (561) 779-3213 with the answer and the date.
