The First Hours
Start with safety. Keep people away from sagging ceilings and exposed wiring. From the ground, photograph the damage and any water inside, note the date, and take reasonable steps to stop more water, such as a tarp over an opening. Keep the receipts, then report the loss to your insurer.
We are a roofing contractor. We are not your insurer, a public adjuster or an attorney, and we do not give legal advice. We look at the roof, say what the damage and the repair involve, and put the scope in writing for a free estimate.
Greenacres Roofs
The City of Greenacres was first developed in the 1920s, and much of its single-family and condo stock went up between roughly 1970 and 1999 as concrete block construction, in neighborhoods such as Cresthaven, Lucerne Lakes, Lucerne Park, Sherwood Lakes, Springhill and Covered Bridge. Newer areas such as Royal Palm Estates and the area around Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club date from 2000 or later. That spread of ages is the first thing an adjuster and a roofer both look at.
A 1970s or 80s block home is usually past the rated life of its original roof, so a storm often exposes wear that was already there. That matters for a claim: coverage turns on the cause of the loss, and your policy decides. Our part is to describe what is on the roof, honestly, and say whether it is a repair, a partial re-roof or a replacement. Each roof system, whether tile, shingle or metal, fails differently at the edges, the ridge and the flashing.
The Claim
You report the loss by the method your policy names. The insurer assigns an adjuster, who inspects and decides what the policy covers. Three things in your policy matter most: the causes of loss it covers, the deductible, and whether hurricane or named-storm damage carries its own deductible, which many Florida policies do.
Greenacres sits a few miles inland, so it is generally outside the Wind-Borne Debris Region, but the Florida Building Code still requires wind-resistant construction across Palm Beach County, and we check your exact address against the current wind-speed map before we quote. For hurricane losses, see our hurricane roof damage inspection page, and for an insurer who questions an older roof, roof age and Florida insurance.
Permits & Code
Greenacres issues its own roofing permits through its Building Division at 5800 Melaleuca Lane, with an ePermit portal for applications, plan review and inspection scheduling. It is not the Palm Beach County Building Division that handles Loxahatchee or The Acreage. A licensed roofing contractor must hold the permit and be present at final inspection, and roofing products need a valid Florida Product Approval for the installation.
Proof
We lead with the credential stack: Florida Certified Roofing Contractor license CCC1332751, a state certification that lets us contract roofing work in any Florida county, separate from Certified General Contractor license CGC1528750; the written one-year workmanship warranty; and BBB A+ accreditation. We do not publish a claim result, a before-and-after or a customer name we cannot document, and we name no Greenacres project. Financing is available through our partner Renew Financial’s RenewPACE program, designed for energy and storm-protection upgrades like impact windows and new roofs. Ask us about eligibility.
Design awards: CSS Design Awards Special Kudos 2026 · Web Design Awards Winner 2026.
Also in Greenacres
Also in Greenacres. A roof job tends to pull other work behind it. If water has already reached a ceiling or wall, our Greenacres construction page covers the repairs and impact windows that follow; if a board runs the building, the Greenacres property management page explains how association roofs are handled; if debris needs clearing before work starts, see land and debris clearing in Greenacres; and if you are feeding a crew or a neighborhood while the work goes on, the America food truck in Greenacres page shows how to book it.

Questions, Answered
Keep people away from anything that looks unstable, photograph the damage and any water inside from the ground, and take reasonable steps to stop more water, such as a tarp over an opening. Keep your receipts, then report the loss to your insurer. Call us for a free estimate once the roof is safe to look at.
Report the loss to your insurer by the method your policy names, give the date and what you saw, and keep your photos, notes and every message. The insurer assigns an adjuster who decides what the policy covers. We are a roofing contractor, not your insurer, a public adjuster or an attorney, so we describe what we find on the roof and leave coverage decisions to the insurer.
Yes. The City of Greenacres runs its own Development & Neighborhood Services Building Division out of City Hall at 5800 Melaleuca Lane, with an ePermit portal, separate from unincorporated Palm Beach County. A licensed roofing contractor holds the permit and is present at final inspection, and we handle both.
Coverage turns on the cause. Wind damage from a covered storm is treated differently from a leak caused by age or wear, and your policy wording decides. We can tell you what we see on the roof and where the water is getting in, and your insurer decides what is covered.
It depends on the size of the damage, your deductible and what your policy covers. Many Florida policies carry a separate deductible for hurricane or named-storm damage, so read yours first. Our free estimate puts the repair scope in writing so you can compare it with the deductible.
Take your time. Read any paperwork before you sign, and do not sign over rights to your claim without understanding what you are giving up. Our estimates are free, so you can have the scope in writing before you decide. Your insurer, not your contractor, decides what the policy pays.
