Greenacres has more than 17,000 homes, and a large share of its single-family houses and condo communities, among them Cresthaven, Lucerne Lakes, Lucerne Park, Sherwood Lakes, Springhill and Covered Bridge, are concrete block built between roughly 1970 and 1999. A house of that age may be past its original roof's rated life, so a closed-up summer is when a small roof or window leak can spread. Home watch means a person checks the house on a schedule you agree in advance. BeacCorp Property Management offers it, and our vacation home watch guide covers the vacancy-clause question to put to your insurer.
Owners here range from snowbirds to landlords between tenants. Newer neighborhoods such as Royal Palm Estates and the area around Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club, toward the western edge, were built in 2000 or later, and their associations have their own rules on access and exterior changes. Condo communities add notice rules for extended absences and hurricane preparation. Randolph Scott Bell holds CAM34850 and the firm license CAB3255 and knows how these boards operate; see HOA management and condo association management.
Greenacres runs its own Development & Neighborhood Services Building Division from City Hall at 5800 Melaleuca Lane, with an ePermit portal, separate from unincorporated Palm Beach County, so repairs found on a visit are permitted there. The city sits a few miles inland and is generally outside the Wind-Borne Debris Region, but the Florida Building Code still requires wind-resistant construction, and an exact address should be checked against the current wind-speed map. Randolph holds CGC1528750 and CCC1332751, so he can say what a roof or window repair involves. BeacCorp holds a Palm Beach County business tax receipt, a local registration and not a contractor license.
Agree before you leave who prepares the house ahead of a named storm, who is called first and who pays. This page promises no visit times or response times; call (561) 779-3213 to ask how BeacCorp would set up your home.
If a visit finds damage, the repair is covered by our Greenacres construction and Greenacres roofing pages; owners of a larger lot may want our Greenacres land page; and for a gathering when you return, see Greenacres food truck.

A home watch company checks your house on a schedule while you are away so problems such as leaks, a failed air conditioner or storm damage are found early. Agree in writing how often visits happen, what is checked and how you are told.
Ask for the roof, ceilings, windows and air conditioner to be named on the written checklist, since homes of that age often have original roofs and single-pane windows.
